I’m a cognitive neuroscientist based in Los Angeles, working at the frontiers of (non-invasive) brain stimulation, neuroimaging and clinical neuroscience. The roles I've held in academic, non-profit, clinical, and startup environments have made me a first-hand witness to the complete pipeline that begins with basic scientific innovation and culminates in products and treatments accessible to the general public.

I am especially driven to understand the nature of consciousness, which I see as the single most significant and fundamental question we face — as a society, and as individuals. In a universe that appears otherwise cold and bitterly indifferent — nothing more than a long series of particle interactions — each of us is a candle in the dark in-which all meaning, ethics and purpose resides.
